Summer Tips + Tricks

I hope your summer time fun is off to a great start.
If you have travel plans coming up or if your summer schedule tends to be a bit different than your normal routine then listen up. Here are ways for you to continue to stay on track and tend to your health in times of change, travel or transition.
SIX SUMMER TIPS AND TRICKS
Here a a few tips, tricks and recommendations to stay on track for your health goals this summer:
1. Going out of town... get this: I never go anywhere without Athletic Greens and Ka'Chava. I live in the best city in the world where I can buy a yummy healthy organic meal and get it delivered to my house in less than 10 minutes. But this is not the case everywhere I go… so I like to bring with me these supplements so I can be sure to get in proper nutrients to feel good. Here is my go to kids protein shake I use when I bring my daughter along on trips.
2. Keep moving: There is no excuse NOT to get your movement in. You will need 20 minutes of intentional movement per day. Your kids will understand, and your partner and friends will be happy you took the time away. You are not too busy or important to carve out time for you. Get it in. Here's how:
Have your kids/partner/friends join you
Wake up earlier
Workout during your kids screen time
Embrace the chaos, it will never be perfect
3. Stay hydrated: Even if that means buying another overly priced water bottle you are excited to drink out of. Track your water intake. Your goal is to consume 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day. My favorite water bottle brand is Yeti.
4. Enjoy the party: Do you have a fun meal planned, a party to go to or a night of indulgence ahead? If so, here's the trick to reaching your health goals while still having a great time.
Keep your diet to clean unprocessed foods before your big event.
You will need to fuel your body properly 80% of the time. This means 20% of the time you can indulge or fall a bit off your normal healthy habits. Get honest with yourself and clean up your daily meals so you can enjoy times of pleasure and indulgences.
Enjoy yourself guilt-free by knowing your non-negotiable before you go out.
Take activated charcoal when you are having rich food or drinking alcohol. I like this one by bulletproof.
5. Plan ahead for when and where you will eat:
You might need to pack a lunch
You might need to look up some restaurants ahead of time. (There's an App for that.)
You might need to find a grocery store instead of eating out
6. Mindset is Everything: Get clear about what you want to have accomplished 3 months from now pertaining to your health? What do you desire to experience? What is your goal? Do you want to lose 10 lbs? Enjoy your travel and stick to your workout routine? Get stronger and eat well while enjoying summer fun?
Get clear on the things you want to be able to accomplish so you feel proud of yourself come fall.
Write down your summer goals.
Make a plan.
Remember that delegating is a form of self-care and self-care is a form of self-love.
